Women's Leadership Institute Hosts Event

Event encourages women to think innovatively and lead with lasting impact.

March 15, 2013 -- Mount Mary College's Women's Leadership Institute is hosting a signature event to inspire women to create opportunity around the world through personal leadership and collaboration. Jessica Jackley, Co-founder of KIVA.org, will be the featured speaker at this year's first "Voices of Leadership" speaker series on Wednesday, March 20th. The sold-out breakfast event takes place from 7:45 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. at Discovery World's Innovation Theater.

Jackley co-founded KIVA.org to link individual-backed financial services with entrepreneurs in impoverished areas around the world. Since its founding in 2004, 1.4 million online users have provided $400 million in loans to individuals in 216 countries. Nearly 100% of all loans provided have been paid in full and individuals, families, and communities have been transformed.
