"The Eye and the Needle" Exhibit Opens Jan. 18 in Marian Gallery
Fiber artwork based on original photography to be displayed
MILWAUKEE (January 9, 2015) - "The Eye and the Needle," a new exhibit featuring fiber and quilt artwork from the Wisconsin and Illinois chapter of Studio Art Quilt Association (SAQA), will be on display from January 18 to February 27, 2015 in Mount Mary University's Marian Gallery. An artists' reception will take place Sunday, January 18 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Two-and three-dimensional contemporary art quilts created in response to original photographs will be showcased along with the original source images.
SAQA is a nonprofit international organization dedicated to quilt and fiber art education and appreciation. The organization supports over 3000 artists, teachers and collectors in their commitment to fiber and quilt art.
Marian Gallery is located on the first floor of Caroline Hall at 2900 N. Menomonee River Parkway and is open Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
