Mount Mary Receives Grant to Support Summer Leadership Academy

On January 11, the Women’s Fund of Greater Milwaukee announced that Mount Mary University was selected as a 2025 grant recipient. The organization, which focuses on enhancing the economic well-being of women in the community, is investing a total of $105,000 between the 11 institutions chosen. Mount Mary will receive $10,000 in funding to support the Summer Leadership Academy, the university’s annual week-long workshop for high school girls.

“We believe that fostering gender equity entails protecting rights, removing obstacles and creating ripples of change for women, their families and our community,” said Beth Odian, board chair of the Women’s Fund. “We firmly believe in the power of collective philanthropy—each contribution unites our community, shapes collective awareness and drives meaningful solutions.”

Since its start, the Women’s Fund has provided grants totaling more than $3 million, supporting over 150 organizations. This year’s grants, ranging from $5,000 to $20,000, fund programs and organizations aimed at enhancing economic literacy, fostering independence and building a more equitable future for people throughout the Milwaukee community.
