Statement
Aisha Ullius’s work revolves around nostalgia, comfort, illusion, and play. Ranging from warped foods to textiles, Ullius manipulates materials into convincing visual experiences. She exploits the human desire for food, as her work lures the audience in before revealing a repulsive truth. In her exploration of consumption, Ullius questions how junk food may affect the body and how food makes the body feel a sense of comfort.
