Rhiannon Grubbs

Rhiannon GrubbsAbout
My name is Rhiannon Grubbs and I am a senior at Mount Mary University double majoring in Interior Design and Interior Merchandising.  After graduation, I will be moving to North Carolina where I will be continuing my education to receive a master's in Architecture. I have an interest in retail design, so I plan on pursuing a career at an architecture/design firm in North Carolina. Overall, I have worked on a range of design projects throughout school and I have attached a few of those here for you to see.  If you are interested in learning or seeing more from me, my contact information is listed below!

Statement
As a designer, I want to focus on mental health, primarily on depression and anxiety disorders, while adding biophilic and residential aspects into commercial designs; thus, creating “a home away from home.” ´In doing so, I hope to create a design that changes how society thinks of mental health care facilities, while providing a space that intrigues people to seek help, and creating a place for all ages.  This can be achieved through material and paint selections as well as a focus on key architectural elements such as ceiling design.

Daily Escape is an outpatient center for people suffering from depression and anxiety disorders to use to escape their mind and their everyday lives into a home away from home. It is an intergenerational space that is designed to change the view society has on mental health care facilities/patients.
