Tips for Applicants
Use these quick tips to ensure a smooth application process and quick application decision.
Have Required Application Information Ready.
Before you start filling out the admission application, make sure you have the required information readily available. See a list of information for high school students to have on hand while applying.
Provide Up-to-date Contact Information.
When filling out the online application for admission, make sure the phone and email address you provide is one that you check or use most frequently. The university will contact you via the phone and email with any questions or to follow up regarding your admission decision.
If you move or your contact information changes after you submit the application, contact your admission counselor to let her know.
Request Transcripts Early.
Whether you’re requesting high school or college transcripts, request your transcripts right away—even before completing the online admission application. It may take schools several days or longer to process your request, so the earlier you request these, the better.
Use our transcript request form to help get this process started.
Send ACT or SAT Scores When Available.
For undergraduate admission only: It often is free to send scores when you indicate a school at the time of registration or test taking, but if you didn’t indicate Mount Mary when you signed up to take your test, don’t worry. You can request scores be sent directly to Mount Mary from the testing agency’s website (often a small fee is charged by the testing service).
Be Mindful of Deadlines.
Mount Mary has rolling admission for all majors and programs, but many scholarships and financial aid opportunities have specific deadlines throughout the year. Some scholarship competitions may require proof of college acceptance in order to give you an award.
Here’s a timeline of important dates at Mount Mary for undergraduate applicants:
- Caroline Scholars Program
- Grace Scholars Program
- Mid-January: The Layton Art Scholarship deadline is typically in the middle or end of January each year.
- December 1: This is the priority deadline for filing FAFSA.
- March Annually: Each spring, Mount Mary hosts an overnight event for accepted students. You must submit your application and be accepted prior to the event in order to attend. Once accepted, you will receive your exclusive invitation!
Some Mount Mary graduate programs review applications only once or twice a year. If you’re applying for graduate study, check the graduate program’s admission requirements information for details on application deadlines.
