Welcome to the new Caroline Hall Fitness Center!

Create a healthy lifestyle, reduce stress, and improve your quality of life through Mount Mary University’s fitness center at the Bloechl Recreation Center. The fitness center is also handicap accessible, with elevator access at the entrance of the Bloechl Recreation Center.

 

Fitness Center Policies

Access to Fitness Center

  • A valid Mount Mary University ID must be shown to enter the Bloechl Center and Fitness Center – No exceptions will be accepted
  • Fitness Center Hours

    • Monday – Thursday: 7 a.m. – 9 p.m.
    • Friday: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
    • Saturday: Closed
    • Sunday: Closed
  • Do not use the space outside of the posted hours or if there is not an attendant on duty

Bloechl Gym 

  • The gym space will be available for use by appointment only
  • As approved by the Athletics Rental Manager

Fitness Center Attire  

  • Proper Athletic Attire must be worn while using the Fitness Center
  • Sneakers, socks, athletic pants/shorts, and athletic shirts are considered appropriate attire
  • Jeans and not permitted;
  • Bare feet, socks only, or open-toed shoes are not permitted

Group Classes

  • Group classes will be approved on a case-by-case basis
  • All requests must be made via email 1 week (7 days) in advance to the Fitness Center Director – Natalie Balleto at balleton@mtmary.edu and determined by the Athletics COVID-19 Action Team
  • Group classes will be expected to follow Fitness Center Policies
  • The instructor of the class will be expected to understand and enforce these policies

Food and Beverages

  • Other than water bottles, food and beverages are not allowed in the Fitness Center

Fire Alarms

  • Whenever a fire alarm is sounded, immediate evacuation of the building is expected 
  • Exit through the exit door and remain outside the building in a designated space until it is announced that it is safe to enter the building 

Guests / Visitors  

  • Guests and visitors will not be allowed in the Fitness Center 
  • The only exception to this will be for campus tours with prospective students 
  • The prospective students must be accompanied by a University tour guide
  • The guide may show prospective students the Fitness Center space from the entryway 
  • They will not be permitted to walk through the Fitness Center

Locker rooms 

  • Locker rooms will be opening in December of 2022
  • Locks may be available for rental, please contact Natalie Balleto for more information
  • Lockers will be available for daily use the Fitness Center in December of 2022
  • There will be a sanitizing station placed next to the lockers
  • Patrons will be expected to clean their lockers after they are used
  • Bags and other equipment must be store in lockers or by front desk 

Health and Safety 

  • If you have any COVID-19 symptoms please do not train or work in the Fitness Center
    • Symptoms include:
      • Temperature > 100.4 F
      • Chills  
      • Sore Throat
      • New Cough (not related to chronic condition)
      • Muscle pains/aches
      • New loss of taste or smell
      • Shortness of breath/difficulty breathing
      • Fatigue
      • Headache
      • Congestion or runny nose
      • Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea 
      • New rash or other skin symptoms
      • Pain, redness, swelling or rash on toes or hands (COVID-toes)
      • High-risk exposure 
      • New contact with an infected individual or prolonged contact with a crowd without physical distancing or PPE
  • Please consult your physician before engaging in physical activity 
  • Please keep in mind your own health and fitness level when engaging in physical activity 
  • All patrons will be issued cleaning bottles along with towels and will be expected to spray and wipe down all equipment after each use
  • Towels will be washed after each use
  • Bottles will be disinfected by staff before reuse There will be one entrance (East) and one exit (West) from the Fitness Center
  • Please be respectful of Fitness Center workers as they enforce our risk mitigation practices – including but not limited to masks, social distancing standards, and cleaning expectations 
  • Injuries
    • Any patron who experiences an injury or becomes dizzy/ill should contact Fitness Center staff for assistance 
    • University procedures will be followed for any injury 
    • Campus Public Safety and emergency personnel may be engaged
    • Patrons use the facility at their own risk, Mount Mary University is not responsible for any injury 
  • Lost and Found
    • Articles lost in the facility will be kept in a box behind the main desk in the Fitness Center
    • The athletic department and Fitness Center staff are not responsible for any lost or stolen items 

Cleaning

  • The Fitness Center is focused on the health and safety of our patrons 
    • The Fitness Center will be cleaned daily

Become a Fitness Center Member

Mount Mary students, faculty, and staff can use the fitness center for free. 

Memberships are only available to Mount Mary students, faculty, and staff at this time.

To obtain a fitness center pass, faculty, and staff must: 

  • Complete a fitness center registration form and liability waiver, which can be found at the front desk located in the Bloechl Center.
  • Payment for the semester must be made at the time of registration. Checks, cash, or credit cards (Visa or MasterCard) are acceptable forms of payment.
  • Prorated registration fees may be applied if joining the Fitness Center later in the semester; these reduced fees are at the discretion of the Fitness Center manager.
